As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain the value proposition of a web-copywriter, Astute Copy recently attended an Internet Marketing Masterclass held by the well-known Marketing Consultant, trainer, speaker and author - Nigel Temple.

  

According to Nigel's planninng template for all business websites, the key, strategic steps to consider are:

 

1. Objectives - Make sure the objectives, goals and expectations for your site are clearly defined

2. Segments - As your business appeals to and caters for different market segments, so should your website

3. Positioning - Ensure your value proposition makes you stand out from your competitors

4. Differentiation - Educate visitors as to why you're more valuable, be helpful, useful and memorable

5. Website - Design, functionality and usability are vital for the best visitor-experiences

6. e-relationships - Generating business online often begins with offering a reason for web-surfers to return

7. Content - WORDS, WORDS, WORDS

8. e-marketing - Register with all major search engines, appropriate directories and other highly visible areas

9. e-commerce - If appropriate, build in the £merchant accounts and payment facilities

10. Metrics - Analyse which areas of your site work best and optimise it's performance accordingly
